First is the result of your application for credit or any transactions initiated. When you apply for new or more credit, this type is being provided to lenders. This serves as an important basis for lenders. Inquiries that are the result of an application you submitted can indicate that you have additional debt not yet shown as an account on your credit report.
The second is the result of a review that does not involve your credit account. Unlike the first type, this is shown only to you. This does not in any way cannot affect your credit scores and are never received by lenders. Your personal requests of your own credit report, reviews of your credit score (for employment purposes for example), account reviews b your existing lenders, and reviews for making pre-approved credits are included in this type of inquiry.
